Ten Years In, a New Name, and a Full Circle Moment
On July 16, I’m celebrating a milestone that feels both surreal and deeply grounding: ten years in business.
When I started, I knew I loved weddings and events, but I had no idea how much this work would shape me. Over the years, I’ve learned that planning is never just about checklists and schedules. It’s about people. It’s about handling the details so my couples can stay connected to the joy of what they’re building.
The last decade has included so many highs: happy tears during first looks, packed dance floors, quiet moments before a ceremony begins, and those end-of-night “we did it” hugs. It has also included hard lessons. Weather changes. Family dynamics. Budget reality checks. Vendor curveballs. The kind of situations you cannot predict, but you can prepare for. Every season, every event, every surprise has made me better, steadier, and more intentional about the experience I create.
This anniversary is also a turning point, because I’m stepping into a new brand chapter. J. Renee Services is now Your Day by Renee. The heart of my work is not changing. You can expect the same steady support, clear communication, and hands-on coordination I’ve always provided. What is changing is the presentation, the resources, and the overall client experience. Everything is being refined to better reflect the level of care I bring to each celebration.
This new chapter also brings me back to Northern Virginia, which makes this moment even more special. The DMV is where my business began, where so many of my earliest weddings took shape, and where I built the foundation for the planner I am today. To be back here, serving Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, Maryland, and the surrounding area, feels like a beautiful full circle moment.
And while Atlanta is no longer my home base, I’m still planning weddings there for couples and celebrations that bring me back. Atlanta was a meaningful chapter in my business. It gave me growth, perspective, and some truly memorable planning experiences that will always be part of the story.
In this next season, you’ll see more of what I love most: stronger planning tools, clearer guidance, and an even more polished process from inquiry to wedding weekend. I’m building something that feels like growth. Not louder, not busier, just more intentional.
If you’re newly engaged, deep in planning, or simply dreaming up what’s next, I’m so glad you’re here. This blog will be a place for practical advice, real support, and a behind the scenes look at planning weddings with care, clarity, and purpose.
Thank you for being part of the ups, downs, and everything in between. Here’s to ten years, a new name, a familiar city, and everything ahead.
Thoughtful planning. Effortless celebration.
